October 7, 2008 – ECOS students took a ride on the Missouri River to see first-hand how we are connected to the river.  Vicki Richmond from Missouri River Relief drove the boat and told the students all about the results from the recent Missouri river clean-up.  Green Works board member Marcus Rivas also attended.  Vicki and Marcus pointed out pollution issues along the river, industry, habitat restoration and treated wastewater inflows, along with old point source pollution inflows that were outlawed with the Clean Water Act.
