Support Summer Internships and Change Lives
This summer we are once again placing our older, accomplished students into paid summer internships aligned with their interests, skills and abilities. Green Works pays all the internship costs, including the stipend the students receive. We’ve set a goal to raise $1,000 for each of our 12 students, and we need your help!
Twenty volunteer mentors have helped us during the last year as our students created career plans, practiced their interviewing skills, created a master resume, and practiced communication and learned workplace norms. Now it’s your turn.
With your support Carlos (the Rubik’s cube whiz) will spend his summer helping with film at KCPT; Lyndon who plans to be an engineer will be working at Taliaferro & Brown Engineering; Trieu who dreams of being a doctor will get some great experience at Samuel Rodgers Health Center; Mike the future designer will gain experience working for The Greensman, and Sara who wants to help create families through adoption will have a meaningful summer working with Catholic Charities.
With your help these students and more will have the opportunity for a summer that can literally change their life. Thanks for investing in our students, and in Kansas City’s future workforce.
“I was very impressed with the young people that I met and talked with this past spring and everything that your program is striving to accomplish! Keep up the great work!!” – Laurie Brown, Vireo
