ECO Career Camp
ECO Career Camp is a hands-on summer camp that allows urban middle schoolers to increase their awareness, understanding, and confidence in exploring science and nature-related topics and professions. Campers make new friends, get lots of fresh air, and learn a lot along the way!
ECO Career Camp involves a range of environmental activities including water and air quality testing using scientific field equipment, outdoor fun and nature walks, and field trips to local science and career sites such as Evergy, the Missouri Department of Conservation, KU Field Station and more.
Campers participate in career interest surveys to help them understand how their own unique traits, interests, and skills can allow them to excel at various job types. Campers have face-to-face engagement with management, field and administrative professionals to learn about their STEM and nature-related career experiences. Eco-entrepreneurs meet with campers to discuss private-sector jobs.

Summer 2023 Camp DETAILS:
Age/Grade: Open to rising 6th – 7th graders living in neighborhoods served by the Kansas City Public School District
Dates: June 26th – 30th
Time: 9 am to 3:30 pm (Note one day the pick-up time may be 5 pm due to a longer field trip transportation schedule. Parents will be notified well in advance.)
Cost: FREE (Year-round fundraising efforts allow us to offer the program at no cost to campers.)
Location: The Discovery Center 4750 Troost Avenue, KCMO 64110
Registration: Limited and first come, first serve. Priority given to new campers.
Lunch: A simple lunch including a sandwich, chips and fruit will be provided to campers. Campers are welcome to bring their own lunch as well. More details provided in final camp packet sent to registered camper parents.
